“Week 5 – Building Decoding Draupadi in public 📢

This week, I’ve got two major updates – Database of women leaders in India and content.

1/ Draupadi on the Dais –

After a lot of delays with our website and roll-out plans, we’re finally ready to help organisations host inclusive leadership-level panels!

Last week, we put together a deck for companies that host events. The idea is to help people invite more women to panels; remove all barriers that cause manels to happen.

It features women leaders currently on the Dais – Disha Shrivastava Prakruti Maniar Meeta Gupta Aruna Chawla Sujata Pawar Dr. Nivedita Srivastava Shilpa Bhaskar Gole, Carina Kohli Aditi Dimri, PhD Mridvika Raisinghani Saraswati Chandra Rhea Karuturi.

This database is only the first step. In our conversations with women leaders, we’ve also realised that voice is important. And thus, as part of the Draupadi on the Dais database, we will also record podcast episodes with these leaders and help build their portfolios and personal brands.

Last Sunday, we recorded one about women and money with Shilpa Bhaskar Gole,.

📌 In case you’d like to see the deck and give me feedback on our narrative, comment hi and I’ll DM you!

2/ Content and distribution

We got Farhat Kadiwala to actively help us create content around ALL things that affect a working woman’s life today – money, govt. policies, growth, opportunities, health, everything!

If you’re curious to see what we talk about, head over to Decoding Draupadi (and give us feedback?).

With content, Anshika Kushwaha and I have had our ups and downs. We’ve shifted gears, tried multiple formats, and experimented often. Instagram, particularly, has been slow.

If you have some experience with growing a page organically, and understand what we do, let us pick your brains?

3/ Spoken Fest

Anshika and I went to the Spoken Fest in Mumbai over the weekend. The highlight of the evening? Bumping into some people who knew Decoding Draupadi.

Apart from that, we got to meet some interesting folks IRL (hi Ria Chopra!) and practiced DD’s elevator pitch with strangers.

Pro-tip – Walk around with a sticker of your intriguing brand name. Especially when no one else is.

THIS WEEK, I WANT TO –

âž¡ Be more active here and on X. The past week was not my most productive one. It was a reminder to batch more content and yet leave space for spontaneity.

âž¡ Send more cold emails / DMs – we’ve got some podcasts lined up and are ready to initiate conversations for more.

âž¡ Find a way to meet more people IRL. I’m looking for meetups happening in Mumbai this weekend. If not, most likely hosting my own (sponsored by C4E).

âž¡ Work on the personal branding vertical (I was not able to move the needle on this one).

What you can help with:

  • Feedback on our deck for companies hosting events (help us do better!)
  • Tag a woman leader we can invite to our database
  • Let me pick your brains on growing a page organically

That was all.
